Day 112 – Intention is an awesome thing

I know I haven’t been keeping up with this the way I should. Honestly, I’ve been too busy doing and not worrying about the details. So here’s were I’m at:

Exercise – is coming along. Gardening is the main source, but I’m also working on throwing some regular sessions of exercise in as well.
Water Drinking – Getting better at it.
The past few weeks have been a write off food wise, but I’m getting back on track with that too. Being busy with other things is not an excuse for not eating healthfully. Fruit and veggie intake is up overall.

Budget – not tracking, but I’ve been thinking a lot more about do I want something vs. do I need something. A lot of times with the wants, I’m willing to put it off for a while so I can adequately save for it. And I think that strategy is paying off (more about this in a minute) and overall I am spending less. When I do spend it tends to be much less and I open myself up to the options and really consider what I need vs. what would be nice to have.

Housework – I’m making headway. I’ve decided to discontinue my paper subscription because it truly makes a huge mess. With all the doing going on, it’s really more convenient for me to pick up just the Sunday paper on the weekend for the coupons and read my news online. The rest of it is just a waste.

Writing – it’s happening. I’m combining web stuff with actually articles and getting some good results (you can see some of those thoughts on http://www.dontbeapicklebump.com).
Photography – its also happening and in 5 days I get to take some pictures of a lifetime (more on that in a minute too).

Spiritually – faltering a little bit but getting back on track. Have been reading more out of the Bible the past few days and saying lots of verbal prayers (God is awesome!)

Being nice to myself – have purchased some new new clothes and really come to understand that taking care of yourself begins where you are not, not were you are going to be 6 months from now. I also took some time off and had an extended holiday weekend.
Don’t procrastinate – I’m getting things taken care of in a timely manner.

Notes for the past two weeks
Five days until the photography opportunity of a lifetime for me. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is sponsoring a photography session where a small group of local photographers will get to go in and take photographs of the Terra Cotta Warriors Exhibit. I’m thrilled to be one of the lucky people who get to do this and I can’t wait until Sunday morning (even though it means I have to get up super early on the weekend). You couldn’t get this close if you were able to visit the Tomb in Xian China.

Today was a really good day for me – I got a promotion. One of surprising side effects of this project is that I’m much more focused at work and I’m knocking homeruns out of the ballpark employmentwise. My efforts have been noticed and I’m really proud of that. I’m also fortunate that with the promotion comes a nice raise. Which means come June 15, I’ll be adjusting my overall budget and really focused on knocking some of my outstanding debt down. If I am careful, I should have the majority of my personal debt out of way by this time next year.

I really feel like the last two weeks have been the result of making good choices and living intently.

Day 77 – April 21

Exercise – No

Thoughtful spending – $61.06 Bought Groceries this evening after having dinner.

Creativity
Photography Related – yes – processed pictures from April 20
Daily Writing related – Yes – Got a bigger notebook for the printouts from this site. also went through the completed summaries for week 11 and marked up the sheet.

Self Care
Do something nice for me – cuddled with the cat and combed him out
Don’t Procrastinate – unpacked the stuff I received in the mail and made lunch for the 22nd.

Notes:
Not a bad day. Super busy with work and planning next exercise program I want to do. While gardening is fun, it’s not labor intensive enough at this point to help me drop weight.

I’m finding that smaller steps are getting more things done in the long run. I can’t wait to add this sheet onto the summary page and post this week’s totals.
